Gerson Lima Son born in Indaiatuba is a professional drummer, graduated from IP&T (Institute of Percussion and Technology) acting as a teacher, studio musician and sideman.
He has accompanied artists such as Afonso Nigro (Ex-Domino), Luiza Possi, Fernanda Abreu, Kid Vinil, Paulo Miklos (ex Titãs), Women in Accords, Léo Maia, Altemar Dutra Filho, Toquinho, George Israel (Kid Abelha) among others.
He participated in several specialized drum festivals: Festival Modern Drummer (2006), Revista Bateria & Percussão (2008), Festival Odery (2010), among others.
He was a columnist for the biggest site in the drum scene: Portal "Batera.com.br" (2006-2009) and also a columnist for the extinct specialized magazine "Modern Drummer Brasil" (2012-2016).
In 2014 he released his first DVD entitled "Plantão GF - Viradas Rock" which had a lot of repercussion in the specialized media.
In 2015 the great American educator Dom Famularo quoted Gerson in an article in the Modern Drummer Americana magazine where he wrote about: "Drummers you should know when visiting these countries".
In Brazil Dom Famularo mentioned twenty drummers, among them: Aquiles Priester, Edu Ribeiro, Kiko Freitas, Vera Figueiredo, Douglas De Las Casas, etc.
Gerson is also an endorser of some products and was a precursor on Youtube, where since 2006 he has the channel "Gerson Lima Filho Videos" with more than 53 thousand subscribers / 6 million views, posting material with tips for drummers weekly.
Currently plays with his power trio Alien Groove (formed in 2004), who has already recorded two CDs and with Rodrigo Andreiuk Trio (pianist) who in 2017 recorded the “Brazilian Symphonic Phantasy” with the Budapest Budapest / Hungary Symphony Orchestra.) and with the play, the Trio won the “Global Music Awards Bronze Medal”.
He has been teaching in particular since 1999, for any age group, having his own methodology, developed to meet the needs of each student.
